Today, when Computer education is popular in schools. The outgoing students think they know the science, they know the skills, the pros or cons. They think they are the doctors of IT. That they can do rocket programming the moment they passout from college.
Unfortunately(or fortunately), they do not pursue the IT career. but they think they can still comment, demand IT guys to bow down at their feet, coz they learnt their tools in school. They just wont understand, that if you do science in school , doesnt mean you have graduated into a Doctor and immediately treat patients.
They do not understand the fact, that IT is an Experience more than just knowledge or books. Its a skill and a trait. It needs patience and logical understanding of the situation. whats worse is parents sometimes misunderstand this.
I was once faced in doing Consultancy for a major company, which includes a complete Email setup, Firewalls, couple of oracle servers. In between of the meeting, the guy is like.. Ray!, i think i will involve my son in the decision making. He studied IT in school. Im like….. ‘ok’ …. how old is he ? he is 15……….. im like WTF!.
Like Engineers, Doctors and many other disciplines.. i wish IT is left alone.. !
Our Central AC provided by the building has broken down …. today is the 2nd Day! and its like an Oven at home. The Maintenance People said that the complete compressor has burnt out and the model which is used by the building is out of stock. So they need more time to sort it out.
And its hell at home. Dester our pet dog is having a tough time, so im keeping him slightly wet and under a running fan, which is keeping him cold. Same thing with our love birds. My Complete IT Network is come to a grinding Halt, to avoid being burnt out and also to stop generating more Heat , to the already full blast oven.
The only good thing is that its dusty outside, which is somehow lowering the inside temperature to around 34 degrees…
All of us, who are into business and sales, face a time when we loose a customer. There could be various reasons you could loose a customer. It could range from a crappy service we may provide or to a point, that the customer’s “nephew” can do a better job…
What Stupidity! , it looks like the local ministers have run out of ideas to make money for them selves. I totally agree that foreigners come to goa, and buy land to make it their summer holiday homes etc. But since the government didnt stop them before. then why now?
As i have mentioned in previous post, im in Goa right now, Sorting out too many issues. Helping my Goa teams with their related complex projects. i will be in Kuwait soon. But till then, im here.
I had a huge list of things to do with the banks over here. Some of them involved me loosing a lot of money with the recent US downfall and also with the Indian Stock Market crashing. So i decided to meet 3 Major banks in Goa. i wont name them yet( will mention this part later).
Why is it that only Weekends and holidays are so dusty , that we cant even go out. i have noticed this now for more than a year in a now …. is something going ?
25/26 Feb 2008, where combined as holidays with the weekend of the previous week. So i happily got a 5 day weekend. Unfortunately it was a weekend, where i stayed at home. and was bored, as my wife, just got 2 days off and the middle friday. So i was home alone.
Hmmmm,,, i dont think this is a fair deal. While the locals get a raise, we expats face the music from local traders and price increase.
Im a Trader too. Well PEOPLE & COMPANIES.. now pls dont cry, when i increase my prices for my IT services!. im facing inflation, i need to survive here!.
I stay near by Salmiya Clinic(private one). So as i was taking Dexter(my dog) for a walk. i tend to see/find all sorts of things. Dexter (like all dogs) kept sniffing at everything he sees. So when he was particularly curious about something and took a bit longer than normal. i had to inspect it . To my Astonishment i found a used syring, that too with the needle still intact. It was crumpled due to the cars which park around. then since i looked around, i found so many of them all dumped and scattered around, that too at a common place, where loads of people walk.
MOH, must seriously look into such issues, where it could create serious health hazards. Also look into medical Wastes dumping from hospitals before renewing their licenses…. I really dont know what to say !!!
