Ok im already fed up of Email Spam, so i built my own AntiSpam Linux Gateway. Now a new thing .. My Blog is just 2 months old , and im heavily attacked by “Blog Spam” I end up cleaning my blog every 15 mins … its too much headache. Finally i found “Spam Karma” , which is really good. Just get the installation right!.
I just realised , that i havent got any postal mail for a very very long time. No greeting cards, no letters from families, or Friends from basically anywhere in the world. Initially i could blame it on EMAIL technology and say everyone is joining the “Age of Email”. But when i ran a search on my email client, i realised i dont get emails from anyone too ? 
If i look at my daily Inbox , i get like 45 geninue emails from work and things to do. 1 email from my wife. and rest 50 to 100 all spam. i dont get any more emails from friends or even families all over the world that say ” Hey Ray, how are you doing ? how is this or that”.
All i get is shorten lines,,, which say ” Hey Man, we got to get this up and running, there is this to buy, this to do. Hmmmmph .. maybe its just me ! sigh!
I have been struggling for the last 12 months to get internet for a small office in Goa, India. I have tired BSNL prepaid, BSNl Dialup, Airtel GPRS, Airtel EDGE , tata indicom internet. all have been a major cost to setup and a major monthly subscription fees. But none have provided a great service nor provided me with support.
Unfortunately i cannot get any dsl or broadband(as they call it in India) as there is no cables laid out(even though this office is in the main road connecting 2 major cities in Goa). All of them have silly excuses, or silly unwanted problems. It really sad to see a growing country have major communication problems. Im not sure if this problem is due to a major country , or corrupt politicians.
I have 2 last resorts, i hope one works out . im building 2 major wireless towers that would transmit internet from a cybercafe to the office , a point to point distance of 5 miles. Or i have to apply for Sify Broadband(Cable TV), which has some bad reviews everywhere on the net.
Im loaded .. loaded with work,ideas,things to do. Its sad that , you end up doing everyone work. vibin, my colleague is also with the same, extremely loaded, with tasks and things to do . Somehow sometimes in kuwait , your job role is not specified in details and we are loaded with things , we are not supposed to be doing.
But due to circumstances , we have to help. Now “help: can be good or be an extremely bad word. Today, people misunderstand help as “compulsory” support. “Help” is no longer understood as “voluntary” service in adverse time of need from a friend or family member or a concerned stranger.
So i have decided to slow things down. Its for my own benefit and the benefit of my company clients (Coz an “over stressed me” wouldnt be able to give quality service to them).
I have always hated , the official carriers of India i.e. Indian Airlines and Air India. But since travelling to Goa, in the short time possible, i had to choose the lesser from the 2 evils. Which used to be Air India. But weighing the trouble i would face versus time. i would choose other international carriers anytime, over IA or AI …

Well last week it was qualitynet. and this time its fasttelco. Whats worse with Fasttelco is their net works … but 90% of the websites in the world doesnt work. Either its blocked or their DNS doesnt work. DNS means .. it can means that your computer cannot find the location of website.
Meaning .. if you are reading blog.rayboy.org .. the DNS tells you computer that blog.rayboy.org is located at 64.74.223.78. So your Browser (IE, Firefox). will go to that server at location - 64.74.223.78. and display this website.
Unfortunately .. with Fasttelco their DNS servers dont resolve anything … and worse is they say nothing is wrong.. i had like around 20 customers call me and asking for help.. so i told them to change their dns to qualitynet…(you can do that even if you are using fasttelco internet) and it worked for them…

The Internet is sooooooo slow in my office. i dont know its been like that for about 2 weeks now.
Having spoken to Qualitynet , they say they are either doing an upgrade or their system is down. Whats worse is that everyone is agitated in office becoz of this and gets on everyone’s nerves.
I wonder what to do? Qualitynet should have a support forum, where people can post comments about this and this could help in solving customer level problems. or a downtime can be noted….
What would you do .. when you are soooooooo busy, tied up and you get this unnecessary, unfruitful, boring, unwanted, non profitable task to do? and you have no choice but to obey…..
I wish i could explain ….. but its like so unnecessary ….Infact its unnecessary to write about it….. man im so frustrated!!!!!!
