As a kid, when we were messing with MS DOS.. one of the games i was hooked on to, was Wolf3d. I used to sit nights just searching for the secret door for stash of guns, ammo and health. The Game play was straight forward..i.e., “Kill the nazis and complete the level”…

Back at college, or at the labs, we used to discuss this in maps, strategies and more. So that we know how to do our next more. Then Rush home to continue on the game. if im not mistaken the complete game used to fit into a floppy as a compressed zip file and when we used to unzip it into our pcs and type “wold3d” on dos prompt to run it.

A small research into this…i found out it was developed by ID software and published by Apogee Software. Apogee software came out with many publications like Dukenukem, SuperNova and Biomenace. Will do a write up on them shortly.

The PlayStation Network is down! WORLDWIDE! People all across the planet are getting this error message when trying to log into the PlayStation Network (PSN).

“An error has occurred. You have been signed out of PlayStation Network (8001050F)”

PlayStation is apparently trying to resolve the issue, but there have been no updates other then they are aware and working on it. Speculations range from the service / server being hacked, leap year issue (even thou it’s not a leap year), the new PlayStation Forum (that was introduced hours before the crash) to plain and simple trying to boost the sales of the PS3 Slim since they are not affected.

My guess is the leap year issue. On one forum it said that the internal clock might mistakenly considered 2010 a leap year but the firmware told it differently! This might have caused the reset of the PS3 to 31/12/1999 and stopped it from connecting to the PSN.

The real bummer is not that you can’t play online anymore but that any online purchased game as well as ‘proper’ games bought in a shop that use the Trophy function will not work! The game will exit with an error reading:
“Registration of the trophy information could not be completed. The game will quit. (8001050F)”
And this happens even to PS3 that never connected to the internet before! Microsoft’s X-Box live is down sometimes too (more often in fact than the PSN) but it always allowed you to play ALL your games!

Let’s see if Sony get’s it sorted and your PS3 does not become an expensive Blue Ray Player with additional but limited functions…

This game was just launched out, last week. and i got it gifted to me by my sis-in-law and Evil Knievel. its like an early christmas gift..

im actually tied up with work, study and more.. but i had to play it out on my Xbox 360. The graphics are too good, with more interactivity, ability to drive vehicles. the above screen shot even though not mine, i actually played it where i was chased by a chopper and 2 bad guys in a snow mobile. it was tough at the super speed as i had to take care of not ramming into trees, or fall of a cliff, at the same time dont get shot or killed by the bad guys..

Its such high speed action. i had a sneek preview of the multiplayer online and found it seamless with more features and facilities…Finally i have something to do this coming Eid!!!

After a long ride on COD4 . i decided to try my RPG on a new war game. Army of TWO !  I got into the game quite instantly, even though i noticed that the options and controls were slightly different than COD. The great thing about this game is that you end up controlling 2 people instead yourself and both the persons need to be alive to win this game.

The Game is about 2 mercenaries, who are hired by the Army to handle dangerous jobs and situation. The game play is fast and action packed. the graphics, sadly though is not as realistic as COD4. but better than anything else. i havent tried playing online or with another partner as im still getting through game. Another thing, mind you the game is full of cursing, badwords, bloodshed etc … so its not meant for kids.

Ok, im given this new project to work on. To build a Virtual Bull Fighting Game for Xbox 360. Im not sure , how this would conflict my role/opinion in Animal Cruelty and stuff. But it is interesting to have an opportunity to actually build a full 3d game for the XBOX.

I managed to download a PC edition demo version of Call of Duty 4 , which has an entire level to play. COD 4 is a RPG(Role Playing Game). the last RPG i played was Quake Arena i think in the year 2001. After that just dropped gaming and went into hardcore work and became a workaholic..

I Started playing as a “Recruit” (Very Easy Level) .. and then made up to the “Harden” .. it somehow brought back my skills as a strategical player.  I may pick up an Xbox360 next week … will meet you guys online!
