Offlate for last 2 weeks, i have been getting too many calls.. Ray, pls help us, net is not working etc etc. Sadly their ISPs are not helping them .. they just say, “everything is fine” maybe you have you a virus.
When i diagnoised this problem for many of them i noticed they are using the ISP’s DNS Servers. i would recommend you use these below mentioned DNS servers as PRIMARY and SECONDARY and then use the ISP’s DNS as alternates.

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
So i would prefer you contact your IT guy to make the change. Opendns is a community supported platform and with fast updates and Error checking. i would prefer you use it for all your networking DNS queries. Using the above , have solved most of my clients problems.

We are shortly launching our latest update to our AntiSpam Gateway Server appliance. Version 1 was a major success, giving us roughly 95% protection. Our Clientele was amazingly surprised by its capability and its costing.
We are coming up with version 2.0 Beta, with the following facilities

Attached is a Google Earth file
Usually Wifi used to be at like Airports, Lounges, Coffee Shops
… But Indian IT guys take it to the next level …. at Udupi Indian Restaurant.Â
Â
Vibin, Sateesh and myself, went to Udupi for lunch recently and among our Bhajis and Thalis, Out came out the laptop and connected to Wataniya HSPDA. So here we are with so many tiny vessels , on a tiny table, with 3 guys and a laptop with internet.
We were quite a scene for many onlookers.

For those people , whose websites, Emails dont work today, please note there seems to be some IP route congestion specially if you are going through xxxx.teleglobe.net to xxxx.Level3.net route. Im not sure if this is due to network congestion or some changes happening there.
So ISPs in Kuwait, have not reflected to these change of routes. as everything in Kuwait is Cached, which is very bad. So please run a ” tracert domain.com ” command. Somehow after running this , the routes get cleared and things start working.

Qualitynet has come out with some amazing ramadhan offers. So due to my massive workload , with the Internet link at home , being my work tool. i decided to upgrade to 1 MB. They activated it today. i was worried whether my NETGEAR 834GT wouldnt support it.. But it has got connected instantly .. and i now i have download speed from 80KBPS to 130 KBPS.
Im in Goa right now . and im trying to be connected to my work and pending tasks from back in Kuwait. being in a remote area, there is no broadband(DSL) and dialup sucks due to low copper quality . So people have to live with GPRS. Airtel (India’s leading telecommunications) has come out with its AIRCARD (manufactured by “Option”). They say it uses the EDGE network for internet services.. But i highly doubt it . to what i have connected in different key locations it only uses GPRS , which highly is sad.

With this new KEMS promotions .. ISPs are basically attacking each other cut thorat level for the land of south surra and other places, which the government is providing fibreoptic.
So UCC came with 1 KD internet, Kems with  .500 fils .. Maybe the next ISP will pay the customer to take their service.
The last note was from vibin

I work for a Web / Email Hosting & Solutions Company, so i have to handle support calls for the weirdest of things sometimes. Offlate for the last 1 month. Most of my clients have been calling us, saying that they cannot check email/webmail or Browse their own secure sites, or do FTP uploads etc while they are at Kuwait International Airport. I was wondering initially if it had to do anything with their Laptops or any wifi settings. Until i personally decided to go there and check it out… This is a technical document… sorry about it(Non IT viewers).
