We had watched this movie some days back….

• Slow Start,
• time wasting in the middle,
• pearl habour in the end.

The Story line of the movie is good, but i felt they dragged it in the dramatics. Nicole Kidman acted well. I felt Hugh Jackman was more of a sidekick. He needs to stick to his Xmen performance. Location shots were amazing.

This weekend, I got to watch “Home of the brave” a Movie by Irwin Winkler. Even though critics have rated this movie a flop , i feel it has so much truth behind it, coz i personally know few soldiers fighting in Iraq and how difficult their lives are. Its the story of soldiers coming back home after a war. Its like how they manage their day to day lives, with their friends and families.

Samuel Jackson, has acted well here. But the role of Jessica Biel was abit too little.

I would grade it 3 out of 5.

We watched “Wild Hogs”, and found it rather entertaining , with a well starred cast of John Travolta, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence, William Macy and Jill Hennesy.  Its about Four middle-aged actors, three of whom are on the downside of their careers, in a movie about men getting older and fighting against it by trying to recapture their youth and good ol younger days.

Its a good movie to watch over a lighter mood, around family. Somehow i felt John Travolta is not meant to be in funny movies. When you mix Travolta with Tim and Martin … its like either John Travolta comes to the level of these expert comedians or Tim and Martin come up to John’s seriousness. either way … it works out to be fake acting…..

Becoz of that i would grade it 3 out of 5 . 

We got to watch “Provoked”, a 2007 UK based English language film, directed by Jag Mundhra. It stars Aishwarya Rai, Naveen Andrews, Miranda Richardson, Robbie Coltrane, Nandita Das and Steve McFadden. The film is based on the true story of Kiranjit Ahluwalia who killed her abusive husband.

As i mentioned before that i dont like hindi movies. But Movies like these bring out Indian Actors/Actresses to Hollywood. It feels nice to see indian culture exposed in a different way and through Hollywood standards. The Sad part of this movie is the abuse brought out in Indian Culture towards Women. Women are mistreated even at this very day in India. I would rate the movie 4 out of 5 ..

I have been doing some research on the net about the Pontiac used for the Old TV show Knight Rider. Until i found that the show is expected to come back as movie, next year . IMDB doesnt have much information about it since its categorized as “UNDER PRODUCTION”.

I truly wonder, what the new K.I.T.T. would look like .. i  found this potential proto type of the new K.I.T.T. on the net…… it does look cool.

My Wife and Myself, dropped in at Muhalaab today, to watch Transformers. And it was amazing. The storyline was really quite well done. The Graphics and Special effects was too good. We had only 2 problems , the first few seconds of the intro got cut 3 times , i think due to some power failure at the theatre , so it was all blanked out. I expected them to rewind and start it again.. But sadly they didnt. And we had one annoying kid, jumping on his seat, everytime Optimus Prime beats some bad ass.

Apart from that, the movie was truly enjoying. im looking forward for the dvd edition.

Been waiting for this for months. Just booked 2 seats at muhallaab for my wife and myself . Just too excited!. Those waiting impatiently , should go online and do the bookings  on KNCC (Cinescape) website, Before it gets packed!

We watched Shooter , this Thursday Night, It was a great movie. Kept us on our toes a bit. The Storyline, was ”OK”. But the action, was quite immense and thrilling. I cant get details of the movie, here as i would advise people to watch it. Shooter brings out , professionalism of a SNIPER . It shows the calculations involved in being a pro sniper. Somehow i felt, if i placed this under the sniper movies category, “Enemy at the Gates“. would be more pratical and  more understanding as the life of a sniper.

I consider the storyline as “OK”, because, it seems to be picked up from many movies and joined together … like Rambo, Art of War and few others. Mark Wahlberg has acted quite well, i was expecting some more acting efforts from the supporting actors.

Its a good movie to watch for the action and excitement. I would give it 3 out of 5.

The Label, dvd cover says “Transformers”.  Well it loaded, the quality was brilliant, the starting intro was same the trailers we have been seeing and … then suddenly ….. TRANSMORPHERS!!!! … i was what !!!!

So i searched on the net , i found that Transmorphers, was another movie launched at the same time of the real movie and people get real confused about both of them. I told the guy, that it was not the real Transformers movie. He seemed surprised , but said , so many people bought it from him. So guys , who buy out the Transformers movies from pirated stalls, roadside guys. Beware, you may end up buying another movie.

ok i watched it, it is simply AWESOME!!!!!!.

One of the only Hindi Movies i enjoyed!!!!!. The movie is basically a biography of the Ambani Empire , its a rags to riches story. and how he got tortured by the indian government and how he beat all odds to reach the Ambani Empire as of today. after watching the movie, i had to research about Dhirubai Ambani on wikipedia.

And i found out that about 90% of the movie was exactly as per his life story. Ofcourse names had changed, and few parts slightly different. The Casts Abhishek Bachan & Ashwariya Rai, played the roles well.

I would rate this movie 5 out of 5. But keep in mind this a typical business movie and no hindi fights or bad guys. So if you are a business person, or like true story, you would find this interesting.Â

I Hate watching hindi movies. Even though im an extremely loyal indian, But i just hate hindi movies. Hindi Movies, are mostly about ‘a different/violent/rational/indigestion love story’ and I hate Hindi love stories. But there is something different about this movie.

I like movies, which are true stories of men & women, who struggle in life, to grow up to be someone powerful one day. One of the recent movies, which touched me was Pursuit of Happyness, which is truly amazing. So since this is related to true events , and related to a life south asia’s biggest corporation owners. This needs to be watched.

About Guru.

Guru is a biopic of an ambitious ‘bijinez’ man called Gurukanth Desai from a village called ‘idhar’ Gujarat. As it progresses, the movie morhps his name to Guru-Bhai and suggests enough allusion to Dhirubhai Ambani, the founder of Reliance Group of Companies. This probably fuels the pre-relese rumor surrounding the same issue.

I heard that this movie was limited to something as un-romantic as Guru marrying a woman for a Rs 25,000 dowry. She is a capital investment to his ambition and for that he is prepared to marry her (even if she is tad older than him). He doesn’t even ask her permission. He gets her because he can convince her father that he is loony enough to marry the ‘mad’ daughter – thereby making this the best Hindi movie, I have ever heard. This movie then takes us through his struggle, his opposition, his ups, downs and his questionable ethics.

All the details in Guru’s life have a strong parallel to Ambani’s life. From debentures, fake export-import, Shell-station-boy(ambani was in Yemen), bribing of ministers, newspaper rivalry to paralytic brain stroke-leaving right hand paralyzed. The key similarity is the shareholder meetings in stadiums, which was really Ambani’s unqiue feature. He was among the first to utilize the public share issue concept in a big way. There is inescapable evidence that this movie is a fitting tribute to Ambani.

We will be watching it this Weekend. i should be able to give you a detailed review by next week.

Zita & Myself, spent our evening today , by watching shrek the 3rd. it was as always hillarious , lots of jokes and silly events. The storyline was quite good. But somehow this time, i had to struggle to remember the characters(especially the bad guys).

Watching Shrek is great if you remember all the fairy tales, we used to read, and learn during preschool days. With so many characters and a major mix up of them , to build the comical storyline… i had to really think hard on some of the jokes.

But it was pleasant to watch. We had alot of laughs . i would grade it 4 out of 5.
