Drobo to NetgearReady NAS!!!
Last week, after drobo started blinking 1 drive as orange, mentioning to change a smaller drive. i removed a smaller 320 GB hd and plugged in a 1 TB drive… from there drobo went berserk.. it took drobo about 30 Hrs to reinitialize..and all the demo’s which they mentioned that while its redoing its thing etc.. you can watch movies etc… well no.. coz it used to disconnect every 10 mins and then freezes data transfers etc.
Finally once the reintialization was done.. it told me to remove another drive and replace it.. i was like why!!!!. Today it shows me im out of space again!. i just put in a 1 TB drive by replacing a 320 GB.. then i realised the drobo dashboard (software to manage drobo)stopped working. So i had to get it installed on astandby pc. i noticed even though i had a total of 1.7 TB of total space with 600GB for expansion and 300 GB for protection. i was still showing Full…!!! 
So today i had it as everytime i used to browse to the drobo it used to HANG for the drobo to wake up! i started the movement process to my Netgear ReadyNAS ( ZEUS) . The Copy process says 72 Hours!. Then have to reconfigure all my devices to connect to ZEUS for the data.
