Increase is 120 KD for Kuwaities, 50 KD for non-Kuwaities in Government sector. I have to tell you, it's not good for both, but at least non-Kuwaiti got a share in Government sector. As for private sector, there is no link between them and Government so they can't get them the raise, and I can only think how many companies would be generous enough to raise their employee salaries. Now.. facing the MUSIC from local traders and price increase, well the thing is, the price increase is NOT going to be for the non-kuwaitis alone. It will be for anyone who wants to buy that stuff. Sure, with the raise, the Kuwaitis should be able to cope with the price increase in a better way. I don't see anything wrong with it. Of course there is an opinion that the prices will increase even more, after the increment. I am not saying that IS the case or ISN'T the case. Lets just assume it is. Now, what is a non-kuwaiti going to do about it? that is what is the important question. Demand for a pay rise? It would be cool if you demanded for one from your management, I don't think we get to make demands on the government which we don't and most likely never will get to choose.
