25/26 Feb 2008, where combined as holidays with the weekend of the previous week. So i happily got a 5 day weekend. Unfortunately it was a weekend, where i stayed at home. and was bored, as my wife, just got 2 days off and the middle friday. So i was home alone.
I slept most of the time, or watched some movies, or did some minor work. But what i dreadful avoided is the roads, the streets, the “foamy” people. i dont really understand.. it reminds me of Will Smith’s new movie , ” i am legend” , where monsters are out in the night, hungry for a victim.
Here on these 2 days, kids and people come out with cans of foam, water/urine guns etc and watch for any victim they get. Come on, PEOPLE, is this the way you show, your loyalty, your patriotism ?
I have been born and brought in Kuwait, Living 70% of my life out here. But i enjoy the national days of other countries. For example, Indian Republic Day, shows the splendor of the Indian Army, Airforce etc. I dont know if they even have flag hoisting ceremonies around Kuwait. What i hated the most was i saw lot of Kuwaiti Flags thrown around the place. WTF dudes? no respect for the flag? The Flag represents Kuwait!, The Kuwaiti Government is doing so much for its people. Atleast show some respect!
Its like You’ll used the flags during these days, and then its not needed!. I dont think the Government should issue these days as holidays next year. The way , these days are spent, it has no meaning!.

It was pretty quiet down here in Mangaf.
No foam, not much traffic.
They have flagged the whole Gulf street and some cars and houses had flags out.
I don’t get the foam part either.
They did have some ceremonies though.

at the war museum was something, but we didn’t go (go figure why
Ah it’s not a certain nationality, it’s certain people….
We’ve got Carnival in Goa thats supposed to be a celebration of God knows what, and the water balloons that are involved in that are the cause of many accidents, and half of them aint filled with water. Other than that, you do see Indian flags thrown around the place n disrespected as well… It’s just the attitude of a certain people I guess, not a certain nationality
