I have been a Gulf Bank Account Holder for almost 8 years now. I have found them quite excellent. i have been using their Credit Cards too for about 6 years now. And found them to be easy to use, easy to manage and quite user friendly at the helpdesk.
Every 2 years , when my card expires, i have to drop by the worst place for cars . Derwazaa or Banking area in the middle of Kuwait City. Here Parking is extremely bad, and cops are like hungry wolfves waiting in the dark to catch and fine any unsuspecting victims.
So this year i was surprised to know that Gulf Bank has decided to drop the Credit Card package directly home. The Credit Cards are instant , easily accepted world wide and 90% of the websites online. Their CC helpdesk is extremely good and availabe 24/7 . and your can call them from any part of the world. It is linked through their online banking system(which is “OK” as it has some bad downtimes… but works after 15 mins of trying).Â
I would grade them, 4 out of 5.(They loose 1 point due to the online banking , which is down , many a times)Â

Sadly, in Kuwait most people I ask why do you use this bank?
I know the manager. So even when I am depositing my money there, I need a link to get fair treatment.
I know many who were in Gulf bank, most were not impressed with their service. Many banks including BKME and Burgan have been deliviring CC to home address for years by the way. I’ve always been with NBK for several reasons:
1- They were first to go online. Their service hasn’t pushed forward ever since then, but it merely does what I need.
2- No. of branches: No other bank can beat them. When I need something, I can find NBK almost anywhere.
3- Phone service: Theirs is fairly good. I used another bank which asked me for card No and pin. Then I chose to speak to person and he had to ask me series of questions to identify me. When I pointed that I already entered the PIN over the phone, he said that’s not tied to them and it’s only to know balance and such!
