Review : Pizza Inn – Kuwait (Souk Salmiya)

We were invited to review this New Pizza Joint a couple of days ago. So we decided to drop in last night to start off, the long weekend ahead. Pizza Inn is located at 2 Places at the moment, i.e. Salmiya at CityCentre and in Shuwaikh at True Value. We decided Salmiya as it was close by to our house and beats the drive during this National Day Celebrations.
The Branch in Souk Salmiya is a bit difficult to find and is not easily reachable. I feel people will go there only if they are DIE HARD-FANS of Pizza Inn, but for people to just pass by,so its going to be tough.
Its located on the top floor, opposite to cosmos bowling.
Now our evening with them… Started Well, and ended well…
About them, the food and more..
The Decor and Ambience, was casual. There wasnt much uniformity in anything, but i was ok with that as probably Pizza Inn International May or May not have forced it. They had 2 XBOX spots for Customer’s kids to play games. Which is good. Im not sure how they would manage it, if we have kids fighting over who’s turn it is to play.

Their Menu was creative, i liked the way it folded into a Flat Cone. Everything in the Menu was quite clear. Some of the beverages we wanted(that were mentioned) , were not available. So we had to make do with whatever they had, which was a Pepsi, IceTea and a Nestle Chocolate.

The Food, was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!. We ordered 2 Pizza’s – Meaty Max and Chicken Fajitas. One thing you need to know is that their “Crust” is not about thin or thick or stuffed or unstuffed. It is about “WHICH” dough they use to make it. Thus changing the total taste of the pizza itself. We didnt know this until much debate with the waitresses and then the manager in the end. To what i remember now, they have 4 different types of Dough, each unique in its own way.

MEATY MAX

CHICKEN FAJITA
What surprised me was we had 2 large pizzas and we werent full. While a single large pizza from PizzaHut would stuff me up. So i found that good. Apart from the above, they have Chicken Tandoori Pizza and many others… which i will try out later sometime .
My wife and her brother decided to try out the deserts. So they tried out the “Pizzerts”. Its a pizza, but a sweet dish. It comes in Chocolate,Apple and strawberry flavours. We took a mix between the strawberry and chocolate.

It was wonderful, and they enjoyed it. im not much of a sweet dish person, so i didnt have any
.
Conclusion
We ENJOYED the Food, and the environment. I would advise you to try their various dough and pizza combinations, which gives an amazing mix. They are New in Town , and will need to work on improving these minor matters. We had a long chat with the manager, told him about the opportunities to grow in fighting with the big fish like Pizza Hut and Little Caesars. Also stressed that their waiters and waitresses must be thoroughly aware of their products to provide awareness to their customers.
So i would grade them 3.5 out of 5 since they are relatively new. You can visit their website here

Will try this weekend… will take my own plates just as a precaution
i tried both the bracnhes this weekend and felt that the staff at the true value branch knew more about the food and specials etc.. than the ones at souk salmiya and when i questioned the manager about it he said it was due to the face that the one in trade value opened about 3 months before the city centre one..
like rayboy said, the food was AMAZINGG!!! i had the chicken tandoori piza and the chicken sub and they were great…. for dessert we tried the pizza tht has chocolate all over it and thought even thought it looked little weird, tasted quite good…
overall:
True Value branch – ****1/2
City Centre – ****
I agree with the previous comment that iced tea should not be served in a pepsi cup, it should be served in a tall clear glass, and the cutleries? Plastics is a bad idea. And lastly, the manager on duty should be alert and aware at all times especially when mishaps happens. I hope they do something about this as soon as possible…..
Did my review BTW…. but why this dude above commenting with two different names ???
Grey : Great, wil lcheck it out. yeah i noticed. Both from Same IP will be blocking him shortly
Nice review and very detailed too ! Do they have a veg option ? I cant have meat during Lent
or maybe I’ll visit them after Easter
Thanks for sharing, i posted it in my blog with sourcing it to you
Mathai: They do have a veg pizza….:-) but i think its best you wait for lent.
Ali: Thanks. no problems
Hey, i REally am a BIG fan of pizza inn, i moveed in to kuwait last year from saudi, and i have to say, the piza inn in saudi dominated the market for pizza tehre, lets hope they grow well here too, just so u know , they do home delivery as well, the number is,
24760124 24760141, home delivery service was prety good, Just took some time taking my order though but it was not a problem cuz the food was AAMAZING,
Try it out sometime.
Hey I guess instead of PIZZA INN – they should name it “Pizza All over” the customer hahahaha
Noticed this review and thought I should add mine too. Tried their True Value branch. Place was pretty small was expecting it be a lil bigger. The menu layout was nice and the pizza’s were amazing. I guess the bread is what made the difference. For a family of 2 3 kids we managed to go thru 4 large. I would’nt imagine that at pizza hut. I would recomend the meaty max (the works) and tandoori (loved the spicy touch) and oh yes! do try their Pizzerts amazing! On the downside the staff needs more training to handle customers.
Rayboy the cutlery is no more plastic, that was a relief. Guess they have read your blog.
My rating 4/5
