Sorry, GeoCities has closed.

GeoCities, were the first companies offering both paid and free hosting services to companies and individuals during early 1995. When Yahoo took over Geocities  in 1999-2000, we expected much more from yahoo, but it seems that yahoo didnt fertilize the growth of geocities and as on 26th Oct 2009, they just shut it down!!!

i remember that the first crappy websites, we built ,where on geocities, and basically every IT guy i knew had a geocity page, filled with those Annoying GIF Images and icons.

Its the end of an ERA… an ERA of web hosting and its technologies.

    How do you get through to those old accounts though? I had pics on my site, and its gone, lost forever… One random day when I remembered about ti, it was just no longer there!!!!!! Sniff!!!!!

    too bad, I got an email from them asking me to backup my pages and files but I didnt bother coz I made that site ages ago
