Sunset in Goa… a different color saturation

My Wife got this shot, in Goa this february. She is trying her hand with photography. Still at the basics. There was this blend of colors between the actual sunset and bright road lights, The whole environment was reddish with an outburst of lights at the horizon.

She took this shot, with the road floodlight at her back , with the sun just setting, with the last remaining source of light at the horizon. she took rapid shots , coz within next 15 seconds the sun had gone.

The Items on the beach are , traditional boats, Fishing Nets, and some joggers.

Goans or tourists, who want to experience this lighting, could drop in Early Jan/Feb/Mar and go to Benaulim Beach, next to Pedru Bar & Restaurant.

Lovely colors to the sunset. You just made me nostalgic of Goa!!!

Not very sure if the slight blurring of the objects is caused due to low shutter speed or whether she used something solid to place the camera on, while taking the picture, and the wind might have shook the camera a wee bit?
Here’s one I took about a month back on Mobor beach (very close to Benaulim).
Notice that I like to keep my sun off-center as keeping the sun in the center tends to create symmetrical composition, which I personally don’t like. But then, each one has their own preference.

I even wrote an article on photographing sunsets.

BTW, summer time in Kuwait offers some of the best opportunities for photographing sunsets. The perennial dust creates some fantastic colors.
Check this as an example that I took last year.

My earlier comments is marked as “Your comment is awaiting moderation”, while the next comment went through.

Anyway, all of my pictures posted to flickr contain EXIF data. On the Flickr photo page, locate the hyperlink on the right which says “More properties” and it will display the technical details of the photo (shutter speed, aperture, etc.)

Thats coool. Sorry about the comment moderation, i had my antispam filter ON. so the blog by mistake took your comment as a spam post as it had too many links on it.

Thanks, for the tips … i think my wife will post some notes , once she comes from work.

it seems , since it is light weight camera and she was standing on the edge of the stone seat out at the parking infront of the beach … it could have probably shook abit in the balance. :-( will try again next time
