The Bat! is an e-mail client for the Microsoft Windows operating system. The Bat! or simply Bath (to not confuse to the tobacco company of bat - b.a.t - british american tobacco tabacco, tobaco or tabaco ) development RitLabs.com one of the best email clients who is equipped almost by all necessary functions.
The given mailing program is offered in two versions: Home and Professional, differing in supported functions. I started using The Bat 6 years ago, when my outlook express crashed after an attack of the ‘I LOVE YOU’ virus. Luckily i had backup. Then i had vowed never to use Outlook express or OUtlook any more.. I was using Eudora for a short While, but wasnt too keen on it.
Finally through a Russian contact, i was introduced to BAT. The Bat is simply in short , an amazing piece of developed software. But beware its not for the feeble users. it requires to have some understanding on email workflow and how to manage it . Most of my friends and family argue that im become a BAT fanatic . But whoever have listened to me and switched to The Bat, have never returned back to Outlook or its variants.
What i liked from this software are the following
- Backup / Restore Facility
- Ability to create powerful Macros and Filters
- Synchronising facilities between many computers
- Virtual Folders.
- Seperation of Accounts . i have like 10 email accounts , i like it go to its own INBOX.
- Integration with Antispamsniper ( 95% spam control)

How about configuring your BAT for MS Exchange Server environments?
Yes its highly possible. But you will need to upgrade to the latest Version of the BAT professional. with works on all the 3 protocols. Imap,SMTP,POP3.
The only feature not as yet there in BAT, is the collaboration suite of calendaring, tasks, journals etc which MS Outlook manages.
I think its planned , as i had noticed it on their schedule upgrades / wishlists.
6 years! That’s a long time for a good product not to hear about. The web has gotten so large not all blogs in the world can cover it up!
‘The Bat’ is quite well known in the hacker/IT network professional community. People dont favour bat as it extremely complex to begin with. it requires you Customize it the way you prefer to work.
