Virgin Megastore is back … Reopened finally … Its great for customers and visitors to push virgin management to work towards reopening the store.

I hope the store doesnt go into more issues with the Kuwaiti Government , we need such stores in Kuwait to work towards progressing into the future with more positive energy.

Virgin megastore re-opens

KUWAIT CITY, May 3: After days of uncertainty, the Virgin Megastore on Wednesday finally reopened its doors after the ministry of information lifted the closure order on the store Tuesday. The store shutters rolled up at 6 pm amidst clapping and cheering by delighted customers. In a gesture of goodwill, the store distributed free t-shirts among its customers, says a Virgin employee.

The ministry had shut down the store last Friday after it allegedly found some “forbidden items” in it. On Tuesday the ministry removed the seals placed on the doors but the store took its own time to rearrange its shelves in order to ensure it does not run into problems with the ministry again. It was not immediately clear whether the store had taken any controversial items off the shelves. “We are delighted to be back in business after the brief closure. Our management did a fine job in resolving all the problems with the ministry,” adds the employee. Some clients had earlier expressed annoyance over the store’s inability to break silence over its closure. The management had said it would release a statement about its closure but it failed to do so, thus adding to the uncertainty. Some of the customers earlier recalled seeing obscene segments in magazines blackened out reportedly by the ministry several weeks ago. Located in the swanky Marina Mall, the store has a wide selection of CDs, games, books, DVDs, MP3 players, magazines, accessories etc.
